filth and disease! how fun you are to paint!

don't get me wrong, i love red. it just gets sooo exhausting. luckily, nurgle is always fun to paint, you know, with all the color mixing and washes and foul things. anyway, took a defiler brake.

  1. What recipe do you use for the red/bloody looking bits? They look great.

  2. the gashes in the flesh use red paint, black wash, red wash and tamiya clear red for the actual bloody gloss. i find that making the flesh around it a rotting pink with a straight white highlight around the edges of the wound really makes the bloodiness pop out.

the tongue and weird tubey organ bits i used dark brown, drybrushed a highlight mix of said 50% dark brown/50% orange while the dark brown was still semi wet (that gives it a some what blotchy gross slime look) washed with black, the sepia (also while the paint was slightly wet) then given a gloss varnish.

  3. Nice job on the greater daemon. The blending of the different shades has worked very well indeed!
